Health Living and Daily Wellbeing Tips

For people around the world, it is more or less a challenge to remain fit, considering the hectic schedules. Adding things to your schedule is a major problem millions of adults face despite their willingness to shift to a healthier lifestyle . Beginners find it really difficult, but it is possible, just start small.

Here is a list of small things that will help you start your journey towards health and wellbeing.

Take the Stairs

We know that time is of great essence in today’s world but so is health. Try to reach your destination or work a few minutes early so that you can ditch the elevator for stairs and still be on time. This physical activity will help boost the strength of your legs and core.

Eat Veggies

While it is true that exercise is important for health, it yields nothing if you are not eating healthy. For a healthy life make sure that half the food you consume daily should have more vegetables and fruits.

Add Probiotics to Your Diet

Our body has bacteria in addition to other microorganisms that support our health – that’s why they are called good bacteria. However, there are also bad bacteria which when outnumber good bacteria, the body starts facing problems.

We can solve this problem by adding probiotics to our diet – it is a good source of trillions of good bacteria that will help balance out bad bacteria in our system. Probiotics are known to boost skin, heart, gut and even mental health.

Say No to Junk Food

To remain healthy, it is important that you cut out junk food and start eating real food. In addition to junk food make sure you keep away from all sorts of processed and packaged foods too.

Real food has vitamins and minerals that our body needs to function properly.

Do this if You have a Sitting Job

People with sitting jobs should make sure they stand and move about every 30 minutes while working. Sitting for long periods of time has side effects like slow metabolism, depression, stress and chronic pain.

By moving about every 30 to 45 minutes you can break the cycle and reduce the harmful effects of sitting for long hours.

Get Sunlight Every Day

Vitamins and minerals are really essential for the overall health and growth of the body and though all vitamins are important, Vitamin D has its own special place.

Our body can’t prepare vitamin D on its own and its deficiency can cause diseases like Osteomalacia. For Vitamin D, all you have to do is walk out in the sun (sunlight is the biggest source of Vitamin D); just make sure you spend at least 30-45 minutes out in the sun everyday!

Sleep Well

Adults need at least 8 hours of sleep every night so that our body can repair and rejuvenate tissues and muscles. If you are not able to get enough sleep daily, your energy levels go down and your health suffers.

Apple Cider Vinegar

An apple a day keeps a doctor away – isn’t it what everyone keeps saying? It is true though. However, it is interesting to note that Apple cider vinegar is also great for health – it improves digestion, supports immunity and relieves one from bloating.

Face Your Fears

Fear is good & it is there for a reason but it gets unhealthy when one starts hesitating and starts procrastinating. It is very important to fight fear in such a scenario as it will act as an obstacle that would not let you lead your lives fully.

Fears hold us back and keep us from living life as our best selves. Acknowledge your fears and take steps to overcome them. (One example of this is overcoming your fear of public speaking to open new doors in your career and personal life.)

Find Activities that can Help You De-Stress

With hectic schedules, demanding lifestyle and unforgiving expectations, stress is a common occurrence in our lives. There are millions of people out there who are fighting chronic stress and trying to get back their mental and physical health.

Find an activity that gives you joy or revisit the one that was indispensable in the past – just connect with something that was a source of happiness at one point in your life. These small self-care activities can help you cope up well with the day to day stress and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Intermittent Fasting is Good for Health

Dieting is not healthy at all and people who go that way usually end up hating it. Do you know what is better than dieting? – Intermittent fasting!

Experts state that intermittent fasting helps in reducing body fat. But that is not all. As per the experts, intermittent fasting also helps people in keeping their cholesterol levels under control, helps control glucose levels and blood pressure.

Drink Water

Water is really essential for the proper functioning of the body – it helps balancing body fluids which are important for processes like digestion, absorption, saliva formation and maintaining body temperature. Men should drink around 3 liters of water whereas women are advised to drink 2.5 liters of water daily.

If you are into drinking, it is advised that you should drink a glass of water after every alcoholic beverage. It helps your body to detoxify and can even help in preventing the hangover.

Walking is a Must

For a healthy lifestyle, exercise is important but if you are not into workouts, start developing the habit of walking. It is said that walking is a great way to improve one’s health and by adding 30 minutes of walking to your daily schedule you can considerably reduce the risks of heart, improve bone health and boosts muscle power. It is also good for depression and weight-loss problems.

When it comes to a healthy lifestyle, doing just a little bit is better than doing nothing at all. If you want to go on a walk but don’t have time for your usual hour-long walk, take a short walk around the block. A 5-minute walk is better than no walk at all!
